Why I started

It started with my little sister.

Newborn Transition Co. began when I traveled to Indiana to help my younger sister and her husband prepare for the birth of their first baby. Because I had experience preparing for a newborn, I wanted to make the most of my time with them. After helping with their baby shower and providing registry guidance, I organized their nursery and put everything in its place. I removed tags from the baby’s clothes, organized the cubbies and drawers, purchased drawer organizers, and arranged their supplies so everything was easy to find. I also reorganized their kitchen and labeled everything. It took a little time for my brother-in-law to warm up to the idea, but by the end, he appreciated how much sense the layout made and how smoothly everything worked. When their baby arrived on July 30, 2026, my sister told me that once the visitors had gone home, she felt like everything was handled. She didn’t have to worry about forgetting something, searching for supplies, or packing what she needed during those first few days and weeks. Everything was in its place, and she felt prepared and confident.

That experience reminded me of how I felt when I had my first baby. I wasn’t sure what to register for, and I wanted a second opinion about everything—from nursery décor to the items we truly needed. My husband assembled the furniture and painted the room, but when it came to nesting and preparing for the baby, I wanted my mom or sister there to help me.
